The YSRCP-led Andhra Pradesh government said on Thursday that it had fulfilled 90% of its election promises within a year of its reign and had spent about 40,139 crore rupees on various social protection schemes, benefiting 3.57 crores and creating more than 30,000 jobs in the state.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has ended a year in power this month. He took office on May 30 of last year.
“Although he inherited the empty coffers of the previous TDP regime and COVID-19 paralyzed the state economy, Jagan Mohan Reddy has implemented a multitude of welfare and development programs, as noted in the party manifesto, “said a statement.
Andhra Pradesh, which currently has 3,245 cases of COVID-19, has become a model in the fight against the virus, according to the report.

The state government has said that health, education, farmers, irrigation, well-being and infrastructure remain priority areas in the past year.
During that year, more than 30,000 new jobs were created by units that have sprung up in different parts of the state, according to the report.

From seniors to rickshaw drivers, hand weavers to fishermen, women from self-help groups to poor parents, students to young advocates, every sector was covered, the statement said.
In 2019, the state electoral manifesto, the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) had promised to implement nine Navratna wellness programs: YSR Rythu Bharosa, reimbursement of costs, Arogya Sree, Jalayagnam, total ban on the sale of , Amma Vodi, YSR Asara, houses for the homeless and increased pensions.

Meanwhile, the state government has declared financial aid of around 25,000 crore rupees to more than 80 lakh farmers.
The state paid 2,500 rupees monthly for a total of 14,438 crore rupees to more than 58.6 lakh beneficiaries such as the elderly, widows, tailors, weavers, single women, fishermen, HIV-positive and traditional shoemakers.
Village volunteers distributed the pension to beneficiaries’ doors during the first week of each month, preventing them from going to banks and waiting in long queues.
“For the monitoring and effective implementation of these programs, the state government has appointed around 2,770,000 village volunteers and more than 1,30,000 permanent staff for village and parish secretariats”, said he added.
