One case was registered against 4 deputies of the Congress for having protested without authorization (representation)

Indore:

Subdivisional magistrate Rakesh Sharma, who knelt before three protesting Congressmen, urging them to end their protest, received a justification notice on Saturday from the Indore district collector , Manish Singh.

Video gone viral on social media shows Rakesh Sharma kneeling before congressional legislators – Jitu Patwari, Vishal Patel and Sanjay Shukla – as they staged a protest against the BJP government’s “failure” to confront the coronavirus pandemic in Madhya Pradesh.

“The way the SDM behaved and spoke to representatives of the public in protest without authorization was contrary to the dignity and the conduct of the executive magistrate,” said Manish Singh in the opinion.

“This has tarnished the image of the administration,” the statement added, asking why disciplinary measures should not be taken against the magistrate of the division.

According to eyewitnesses, Rakesh Sharma went to the site of the sit-in protest and knelt before the three congressmen while speaking with hands clasped, asking them to end the protest.

A case has been recorded against Jitu Patwari, Vishal Patel, Sanjay Shukla and city congress chief Vijay Bakaliwal for protesting without permission.

They have been charged under relevant articles of the Indian Penal Code for disobeying the order lawfully proclaimed by an official, said Inspector Amrita Solanki.
