Foreign ministers of Russia, India and China held a virtual meeting today

India and China do not need outside help to resolve long-standing problems between the two countries, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Tuesday in a virtual meeting of the country’s foreign ministers. RIC (Russia-India-China).

Lavrov’s remark comes amid tensions between India and China over the clashes in the Galwan region of eastern Ladakh last week that left 20 dead and 76 injured. An unknown number of Chinese troops were also killed, including a commander-in-chief, in a brutal fight that lasted several hours.

“I don’t think India and China need outside help. I don’t think they should be helped, especially when it comes to countries’ problems. They can solve them on their own. means, “said Sergei Lavrov, adding:” it means recent events. “

“New Delhi and Beijing have shown their commitment to a peaceful resolution. They have started meetings at the level of defense officers and foreign ministers and none have made any statement indicating that they will pursue non-diplomatic solutions” , he told ANI news agency.

According to the PTI news agency, India was initially reluctant to join today’s trilateral meeting, but agreed following a request from host country Russia.

During the meeting, the Indian Minister of External Affairs, S Jaishankar, called on all countries to respect international law and to contribute to the establishment of a lasting world order. Without naming China or any other country, Jaishankar urged the “main voices in the world” to be examples in all respects.

The violent confrontation in Ladakh has seen relations between India and China take a much more disturbing turn in recent days.

In addition to the fallout from this incident, satellite images accessible by GalacticGaming show that the Chinese have strengthened their military positions along the LAC (Real Line of Control) which serves as the international factor border.

India blamed the clashes on “an attempt by the Chinese side to unilaterally change the status quo”, while China said that Indian soldiers had crossed the border.

The two sides have, however, engaged in high-level military talks to defuse the situation. An almost 12-hour meeting of lieutenant generals on Monday led to a “mutual consensus of disengagement,” army sources said on Tuesday.

A similar consensus was reached after a meeting on June 6, when India and China agreed to withdraw their troops after tensions followed skirmishes between two parties in the Pangong region of Ladakh on May 5 and 6. .

However, nine days after this disengagement agreement, the Galwan Valley clash has claimed the lives of 20 Indian soldiers in the worst fight between the two countries since four Indian soldiers were killed in Arunachal Pradesh in 1975.

Meanwhile, in a position that seems opposite to that of Russia, the United States has entered the split between India and China, President Donald Trump said last week: “We are talking to India . We are talking to China. They have a big problem there. They hit. “
