Delhi and its neighboring regions experienced heavy rains today. After a day of sweltering weather, the downpours today have given the city much relief. The meteorological office has also forecast moderate to heavy rains for tomorrow. No congestion has been reported to date in the city.
The department met said, moderate to heavy rainfall will perform in Delhi, Ghaziabad, Noida, Nuh, Palwal, Aurangabad, Hodal, Alwar, Barsana, Deeg and Mathura. Light showers are also expected in Modinagar Panipat, Gohana, Jind, Kaithal, Pilani, Jattari, Ballabhgarh and Faridabad.

“The monsoon trough will be near Delhi-NCR from Tuesday evening to Thursday,” Kuldeep Srivastava, head of the Indian Meteorological Department’s regional forecasting center, told the Press Trust of India news agency. Mr Srivastava further added that, “During this period, the winds from the southwest of the Arabian Sea and the winds from the east of the Bay of Bengal will reach Haryana, Delhi-NCR, the west of the Uttar Pradesh and northeast Rajasthan and under the influence of these wind systems, very heavy rains will occur in these areas. “
On Tuesday, the maximum temperature hovered between 37 and 39 degrees Celsius in most areas of the city and humidity levels soared to 95%, the meteorological office said.
