Panaji:
The Goa government on Monday changed its standard operating procedure (SOP) for people entering the state in the midst of the coronavirus epidemic, giving them the option of a 14-day home quarantine without testing.
Those who prefer to be tested at state borders will have to spend 14 days in paid quarantine facilities until their results are known, said Chief Minister Pramod Sawant.
“The new SOP will come into effect on June 10,” he added.
Speaking of the Mangor Hill hotspot in Vasco, Sawant said that more than 300 cases in Goa, all but 25, are from the region.
“However, only 19 patients need treatment. The rest are asymptomatic,” he added.
