Coronavirus Now Spreads Fastest in Latin America (File)

The number of people killed by a coronavirus in the world exceeded 4,500,000 Thursday, after the number doubled in just a month and a half, according to an AFP count compiled from official sources at 4:15 p.m. GMT.

A total of 4,50,004 people have died from the disease out of 8,395,929 cases reported worldwide since the emergence of COVID-19 in China at the end of last year.

Europe was the hardest hit continent, with 1,90120 deaths from 2,469,242 infections, but the pandemic is now spreading faster in Latin America, which recorded 86,706 deaths in 1,840,488 cases.
