A police complaint has been filed on behalf of T-Series boss Bhushan Kumar after a series of fraudulent WhatsApp messages were discovered in circulation. A complaint was filed at Amboli Police Station in Mumbai for identity theft and fraud. One or more unidentified people pose as Mr. Kumar and use his likeness and name to deceive members of the film industry, the complaint says. Bhushan Kumar is the President and CEO of Super Cassettes music label, also known as T-Series. Mr. Kumar is the son of Gulshan Kumar, founder of the label.
Complaint filed on behalf of Bhushan Kumar alleges impersonator invited actors to audition for T-series production Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. Fraudulent casting calls for music videos were also sent along with offers to hairdressers and makeup artists.
A spokesperson for T-Series said: “The intention of these unknown people seems very clear to illegally overlap with the name and reputation of Bhushan Kumar and / or T-Series and in doing so they are not just profiting unduly gullible aspiring actors / artists but also disparage the reputation of T-Series and our Managing Director, Bhushan Kumar in the industry. “
This is not the way T-Series works, the spokesperson said: “Neither Bhushan Kumar nor T-Series as an organization cater to a budding actor / model / artist and no ‘require any kind of compensation or registration money for auditions. talent or anyone involved in the entertainment industry to not fall prey to such scammers. We only work with registered and reputable casting agencies that are easily verifiable. “
In addition to the police complaint, T-Series will consider seeking damages, the spokesperson said.
