Ranchi / Dumka:
Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Babulal Marandi said on Friday he had tested positive for COVID-19.
Mr Marandi, the leader of the BJP legislative party, said he was tested after noticing the first symptoms.
“In recent days, all who have come in contact with me, I humbly ask you to get your COVID-19 test taken,” he said in a tweet.
“With the prayers and blessings of all of you, I will be back soon and I will be involved in public service again,” he added.
Mr Marandi recently returned from Delhi and was supposed to make a four-day visit to Dumka on Saturday, BJP spokesman Saroj Singh said.
However, the tour has now been canceled and he will be in quarantine at his Ranchi residence, he said.
