A few days after Abhishek Bachchan and Amitabh Bachchan shared moving tributes to actor Sushant Singh Rajput, who died in Mumbai on June 14, actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan mourned the 34-year-old actor. In an Instagram story Thursday, Aishwarya wrote: “Rest in peace, Sushant. Pray and strengthen your family and loved ones.” The actor was found dead at his Mumbai home on June 14. Police said Sushant Singh Rajput died by suicide – an investigation is underway. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s message of condolences to the family of Sushant coincided with the moment when the actor’s ashes were immersed in the Ganges at Patna on Thursday.

Meanwhile, in his homage to Sushant Singh Rajput, Amitabh Bachchan appeared rather critical in his tone when writing: “Excess can often lead to extremes. What kind of spirit leads to suicide is an eternal mystery. Ending a more lucrative life is simply not allowed.” Big B also wrote “Why?” many times while he remembered enjoying Sushant’s play in MS Dhoni: the untold story: “His work was brilliant, his mind even more.”

Sushant Singh Rajput was last seen in the Netflix movie Drive, before which he also played in Chhichhore and Sonchiriya. The actor’s next film is Dil Bechara, which was postponed due to the coronavirus lockout.
