Bombay:

The main leader of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Praful Patel, said on Tuesday that the party was not part of the Grand Alliance of Bihar (Mahagathbandhan).

He said the NCP wanted to be part of the alliance but didn’t give them space.

“NCP is not part of Bihar Mahagathbandhan. We wanted to, but we didn’t have space, so we’re going to compete on our own. We had no discussions with Shiv Sena. The party workers demanded that we fight alone, so we will fight the elections alone, ”Patel said.

Meanwhile, the NCP is part of the Maha Vikas Aghadi government in Maharashtra.

Earlier today, Bhojpuri actors Sudeep Pandey and Deepa Pandey joined the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). The two actors were inducted into the party in the presence of top party leaders Praful Patel and Jayant Patil.

Recently, the party announced that it would challenge the Bihar Assembly polls.

The party also informed that the chairman of the NCP, Sharad Pawar, would be the party’s star activist at the polls.

“The NCP will nominate its candidates for the Bihar Assembly elections. Sharad Pawar will campaign in Bihar,” party spokesman Mahesh Tapase said in a statement.

Elections for the Bihar Assembly, made up of 243 members, will be held in three phases on October 28, November 3 and November 7, and the counting of votes will take place on November 10.
