New York, United States:
Donald Trump’s niece is expected to issue an unqualified memoir next month that “highlights the dark story” of the President’s family, his editor said.
Mary Trump will publish “Too much and never enough: how my family created the most dangerous man in the world“, on July 28, according to Simon & Schuster.
This is the first time that a Trump family member has published unflattering stories about the former real estate mogul and reality star.
Mary Trump, 55, is the daughter of Fred Trump Jr, the president’s older brother, who died in 1981 at age 42 due to complications from alcoholism.
The 240-page book details the events she witnessed as a child while spending time with her grandparents in the Queens neighborhood of New York, where her uncle and four siblings grew up. .
“It describes a nightmare of trauma, destructive relationships and a tragic combination of neglect and abuse,” said Simon & Schuster in a presentation on the book.
Mary Trump, clinical psychologist, will say that the president, although he is his father’s favorite son, “fired him and made fun of him” when he started suffering from Alzheimer’s disease.
In the book, she explains “how specific events and general family patterns created the damaged man who currently occupies the oval office,” said the editor.
He will understand “the strange and harmful relationship between Fred Trump and his two eldest sons, Fred Jr. and Donald,” added the presentation text. Fred Trump died in 1999.
“Only she can tell this fascinating and disturbing saga, not only because of her insider’s point of view but also because she is the only Trump willing to tell the truth about one of the most powerful and dysfunctional families of the world, “he concludes.
The book was first revealed by the Daily Beast Sunday.
The website reported that Mary Trump would reveal that she was the primary source for the New York Times Pulitzer Prize winning survey of Donald Trump’s finances and taxes.
The investigation alleged that the president had received more than $ 400 million today from his father’s real estate empire, largely through fraudulent tax schemes.
A New York Times spokesperson declined to comment in the newspaper’s own article on the Daily Beast’s claim that Mary Trump provided them with documents.
Several Trump collaborators and journalists have written books criticizing the president, but Mary Trump’s is touted as the first by a family insider.
The book is due out a few weeks before the August Republican convention, when Trump accepts the party’s nomination for re-election in November.
