Visibly upset Trump was photographed returning to the White House after the Tulsa rally

New Delhi:

With a tie undone, grabbing one of his campaign’s iconic red caps and looking visibly upset, US President Donald Trump returned to the White House after speaking in a less than full arena for his first political rally for months in Tulsa, Oklahama. The picture contrasted sharply with a prediction he had made one day before slipping into his helicopter to deliver his campaign speech.

“It will be a crazy evening,” said Trump in the usual tone of confidence.

The rally, however, spoiled by empty seats, was anything but what the President – known to revel in a large crowd – should have anticipated.

The White House had promised that the first gathering of Mr. Trump in three months would be flooded up to 1,000,000 people, but large sections of the BOK center with a capacity of 19,000 people were empty.

Outdoor event for crowded crowd canceled because no one showed up, despite Trump team boasting huge interest and over a million requests in advance tickets, according to a report by the AFP news agency.

While critics of the President on Twitter said he looked “disheartened” after his “disappointing rally” in Tulsa, others had fun.

Trump sought to take advantage of the event to reignite his re-election campaign after being criticized for his responses to the coronavirus and the death of George Floyd, a black man who died in police custody in Minneapolis.

The American president refrained from commenting on the rally as the dust settled the next morning, only tweeting to pronounce a Father’s Day.
