Actor Rajkummar Rao shared a message of appreciation for his Bareilly Ki Barfi director Ashwini Iyer Tiwari for having screened the character of Pritam Vidrohi. “None of us knew that Pritam Vidrohi would love you so much,” wrote Rajkummar Rao and shared photos of his first look test for the character. Rajkummar shared a split image showing the character’s two shades – the docile salesperson Pritam Vidrohi on the left and the stubborn Pritam Vidrohi (created by his friend Chirag, played by Ayushmann Khurrana) on the right. “Hello … First research test Bareilly Ki Barfi. #PritamVidrohi. In the film, Rajkummar Rao played Pritam Vidrohi, who lived a simple life before Chirag (Ayushmann Khurrana) entered his life and asked him to meet Bitti (Kriti Sanon). Bitti thinks Vidrohi is the author of the book Bareily Ki Barfi and she is struck by him. Chirag, who wrote the book under the pseudonym Pritam Vidrohi, is in love with Bitti and wants the real Vidrohi to make sure that Bitti hates him.
Bareily Ki Barfi was well received by critics and it was a sleep at the box office.
Meanwhile, Rajkummar Rao was last seen on screen in a 2019 movie. Made in China while he also appeared in the Netflix movie Shimla Mirch. His upcoming project is Ludo with Abhishek Bachchan and Aditya Roy Kapur.
His current projects are Roohiafza with Janhvi Kapoor and Chhalaang.
