New Delhi:
The Delhi Fire Department and other emergency services in the nation’s capital got into a state of mind on Sunday after receiving several phone calls about “oil rains” hitting parts of the city amid the showers that started in the evening.
According to Delhi Fire Department (DFS) Chief Atul Garg, the fire department has received more than 55 calls for “oil-tinted rain” or “oil-like substance in water. rain “from various parts of the city. Many calls came from bikers who said the road had become slippery due to the “oil rains”.
DFS said it had answered all calls, but firefighters who went to investigate the reports said they found no evidence of oil or chemicals in the rainwater.
“It seems that due to the rain, dust and pollution, such a perception has been created,” said fire chief Atul Garg.
“At first glance, it seems that due to rain, dust, dirt and other materials available on the road, skids caused slips and because of this, motorists threw the call, ”added Garg.
Centralized Ambulance Trauma Services (CATS) emergency departments also received a number of such calls.
Mr Garg said the department was investigating the matter further.
