Delhi:

Delhi has once again reported more than 4,000 coronavirus cases in one day, raising concerns about a new wave of the virus amid the holidays. Except on October 19, the nation’s capital has reported more than 3,000 cases per day over the past 10 days – a worrying sign, especially when COVID-19 levels have shown a drastic drop nationwide.

The nation’s capital on Friday reported 4,086 new cases and 26 deaths in 24 hours. After 3,296 recoveries in one day, the total active cases reached 26,001. The total number of cases in Delhi is now 3.48,404, of which 3,16,214 people have recovered.

The last time Delhi crossed the 4000 mark was about a month ago – September 19. Three days earlier, the nation’s capital reported its highest ever daily figure of 4,473 cases.

Delhi reported 3,882 cases on Thursday. The day before, its total was 3,686 and Wednesday 3,579, a steady increase.
