The couple was sent to an institutional (representational) quarantine center

Shimla:

A Delhi couple was sent to an institutional quarantine center in Himachal Pradesh on Thursday after producing false COVID-19 certificates, said Bimukt Ranjan, said Kangra police chief.

Speaking to ANI, Mr. Ranjan said: “A couple from Delhi was caught visiting Dharamshala by producing false COVID-19 certificates. They were sent to an institutional quarantine center.”

A case has been registered against them and action will be taken in accordance with their report, he added.

Ranjan said that a Chinese national was also arrested at the Himachal Pradesh border in Kaloha on July 8.

“Last night, a Chinese national was arrested at our border in Kaloha. His purpose of the visit was tourism, so he was asked to present a negative COVID-19 certificate (within 72 hours) and a reservation for 5 days in advance at a hotel, as directed by the state government. It did not produce both, “he said.
