US President Donald Trump delivered his first public address on Friday (local time) since the disputed presidential election.
Giving an update on the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine, Trump said it would be available to the general population in April of next year.
“The vaccine will be distributed to frontline workers, the elderly and high-risk Americans … in a few weeks,” Trump said as he provided an update on Operation Warp Speed, speaking from Rose Garden at the White House.
“Our investment will allow the vaccine to be provided free of charge by Pfizer,” he said.
It is the first public speech since Election Day after which Trump refused to concede the election to President-elect Joe Biden.
He had given his last speech on November 5 in which he said: “If you count the legal vote, I win easily. If you count the illegal votes, they can try to steal the election from us … I already won many of the critical states … massive victories in Florida, Iowa, Indiana, Ohio, to name a few, we won these states and many more despite the historic election interference of the big media, money and big tech … Numbers. “
He called the current polls “bogus”.
“We were making a lot in all the key states, in fact, and then our numbers started to miraculously shrink, and they wouldn’t allow legally authorized observers,” Trump said.
Earlier in the day, United States President-elect Joe Biden won the states of Arizona and Georgia, which represents the final electoral tally of the American election, projected at 306 electoral votes for the Democrat and 232 for Republican Donald Trump, who won North Carolina.
The results were announced by the New York Times, CNN and other networks, with the last two states called out on Friday, a week and a half after polling day.
