Delhi has registered 2,084 new cases of coronavirus, bringing the number of infections in the city to more than 85,000, while the number of deaths from the disease has risen to 2,680, authorities said.

The number of containment zones in the city also jumped to 435 on Monday, according to a bulletin from the Delhi Department of Health.

On June 23, the national capital reported the highest peak of 3,947 cases. Recently, Delhi had overshadowed Mumbai as the city most affected by the pandemic in the country.
