More than 1,000 deaths were recorded between Friday and Saturday, bringing the total number of deaths since the start of the pandemic to 93,000. The total number of recoveries in the country has crossed the 48 lakh mark.
About 13.4 lakh Covid tests have also been carried out in the past 24 hours. India is the second country most affected by the Covid pandemic, just behind the United States for the total number of active cases
