Jaipur:
A congressman linked former BJP chief minister Vasundhara Raje to the alleged horse trade in Rajasthan to overthrow the government of Ashok Gehlot. Lawmaker Rajendra Guda said that a man arrested in the case approached him about eight months ago.
“Sanjay Jain asked me to meet Vasundhara-ji and others,” said Mr. Guda. “There are other agents like him but they have not succeeded in their attempts. Sanjay Jain has been active for a long time,” he said, according to the ANI news agency.
Sanjay Jain was arrested by the Special Operations Group, which is investigating the case.
The comment comes amid another round of allegations from a BJP ally, which suggests that Ms. Raje is helping the Ashok Gehlot government survive by sabotaging the rebel camp led by Sachin Pilot.
The tweet from Hanuman Beniwal, MP for the Rashtriya Loktantrik party and Nagaur’s representative in Lok Sabha, reads as follows: “Former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje called congressional MPs near her and asked them to support Ashok Gehlot. She called each and every deputy from Jat to Sikar and Nagaur and asked them to stay away from Sachin Pilot, I have proof. “
Raje, who has remained silent so far on the Congress crisis, said it was “pointless to try to drag the names of BJP and BJP leaders into the mud” while the state suffers from coronavirus and locust crisis.
A BJP power in the state commanding more than 45 deputies, Ms. Raje is a factor in the BJP’s challenge to integrate into Sachin Pilot. Mr. Pilot has made it clear that he wants to be the Chief Minister of the State.
Pilot said he had the support of 30 MPs – the number that BJP needs to form an alternative government. The Congress has initiated a process to disqualify him and the 18 deputies who support him. The Team Pilot challenged him in court, which is now seized of the matter.
Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said 109 MPs support him in the 200-member house, where 101 is the majority.
“We are more than 100 in number (MPs),” said Rajendra Guda, quoted by the ANI news agency. “We have the majority. If we did not have the majority, they (the BJP) would have demanded a ground test. They know we have it, so they do not require a ground test,” he said. -he adds.
Last week, the head of the Rajasthan BJP, Gulab Chand Kataria, said that the BJP would not see a force test for the Gehlot government. “We do not feel such a need (for a ground test) yet. If we do, the party (BJP) will sit down and make a decision,” said Kataria.
