Congress will hold nationwide unrest over the rise in gasoline and diesel prices on Monday, and its MPs, MPs and leaders will submit memoranda to President Ram Nath Kovind demanding the withdrawal of the increases.

AICC secretary general, head of the organization, KC Venugopal, said through protest programs the party aims to highlight the “extortionist looting” of the government of the common man during the COVID-19 crisis.

Over the next week, between June 30 and July 4, the party will also conduct massive protests at Taluk, Teshil and block levels, said Venugopal.

Over the past twenty-one consecutive days, the government has raised the price of gasoline and diesel, placing an undue burden on ordinary people, undoubtedly, he said in a statement.

Central government “amassed” huge profits due to exorbitant increase in central excise taxes on gasoline and diesel, even as international crude prices were at record levels, said MEP by Rajya Sabha.

Party protests will include dharnas on June 29 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. in front of central government offices across the country under social distancing protocols, under the auspices of the CCPs and DCCs, he said.

Apart from that, party deputies, deputies, board members, leaders and workers will submit memoranda to President Ram Nath Kovind to demand the withdrawal of the gasoline and diesel price hikes.

On the same day, the party will also organize a social media campaign called “Talk about the rise in gasoline and diesel prices” to highlight the plight of farmers, taxi and bus owners, carriers. , Ola and Uber drivers, workers and ordinary people who will cascade from these increases, he said.
