A special NDPS tribunal here sent Kshitij Ravi Prasad, a former executive producer of Dharmatic Entertainment arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) over a Bollywood drug case, to justice on Saturday.
custody until October 6.
Mr Prasad was arrested by NCB after being questioned in the drug case linked to the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
The NCB had told the court earlier that Mr Prasad had obtained drugs from another defendant, Karmjeet, and his associates.
“Prasad was presented on Saturday before the Special Court of the Law on Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS), at the end of his custody at the NCB. The court placed him in police custody until October 6, “said Special Prosecutor Atul Sarpande.
The agency had previously arrested the actor and the late Sushant Rajput’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty, his brother Showik and others in connection with the Bollywood drug investigation.
The CBI is separately investigating the death case of Sushant Rajput, in which Chakrabortys was booked by Bihar police on charges of incitement to suicide.
Mr Prasad’s attorney, Satish Maneshinde, had previously told the court that the defendant was harassed and blackmailed into making a statement against filmmaker Karan Johar by NCB officials.
The agency denied the allegations.
