A file was filed against a retired IAS officer in Uttar Pradesh by police for a tweet on Wednesday, in which he raised questions about state government testing policy related to the coronavirus pandemic and alleged that a senior Uttar Pradesh government official was asking field officials to district to slow down the testing of samples.

The first information report (FIR) filed at the Hazratganj police station in Lucknow last night mentions the June 10 tweet from Surya Pratap Singh, the former IAS officer in question.

Surya Pratap Singh is an officer of the 1982 IAS group who retired in 2015.
