A case under the Prevention of Corruption Act was filed against 10 police officers, including two deputy inspectors, in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, after a video showing they were sharing illegal income became viral on social media, a senior police official said on Wednesday.

All 10 policemen were suspended.

“On October 12, the video of police personnel from the criminal branch sharing their illegal earnings went viral on social media. The video has been reviewed and the interim investigation report reveals that the video was from April to May. The 10 suspended police officers are: Deputy Inspectors Girish Chandra Joshi and Abbas Haidar, Chief Constable Tayyab Ali, Constables Ravindra Pratap Singh, Pushpendra Kumar, Vikas Kumar, Virendra Kumar, Ravishankar, Pushpendra Kumar and Driver Jitendra Rana.
