Bhopal:

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said there had been a massive vote in the by-ballots in the state and the BJP would also post an “exceptional” victory.

“People have come in large numbers to vote by overcoming the fear of COVID-19. It is the strength of our democracy. There was an exceptional (massive) vote, the victory of the BJP will also be exceptional”, Mr. Chouhan.

“I thank all the voters. They voted for the BJP with enthusiasm,” he added.

Madhya Pradesh recorded 57.09% of the vote until 5 p.m. in the 28-seat parliamentary assembly election on Tuesday.

The state’s highest turnout was observed at the Agar headquarters (80.46%), while the lowest is in Sumaoli (41.79%), according to data provided by the Election Commission.

The partial ballot for seats in 10 states is run with the assembly polls in Bihar. Results will be announced on November 10.
