Minister Shivkumar Dahariya said his words “were misrepresented”

Raipur:

Chhattisgarh Minister and Congress Leader Shivkumar Dahariya called the alleged rape of a 14-year-old girl in the state’s Balrampur district a “small” incident when referring to the Hathras case.

After the BJP criticized Shivkumar Dahariya and Congress for their comments, the minister said his comments were “misinterpreted”.

“(Former chief minister of Chhattisgarh) Raman Singh does not know that the big incident (of rape) happened in Balrampur of Uttar Pradesh and not in Balrampur of Chhattisgarh,” he said.

“The incident that happened here is different from the one in Uttar Pradesh. Such a tragic incident happened in Hathras, but why didn’t Raman Singh tweet about it? Was he silent? He should answer if what happened in Hathras was good. And when A small incident occurs in Balrampur in Chhattisgarh, he (Singh) is doing nothing but criticizing the government state, ”the minister of urban administration told reporters on Saturday.

He was responding to a question about tweets posted by Raman Singh about the recent rape incident in Balrampur.

However, he later clarified that his comments had been misinterpreted and that he did not call Balrampur’s rape a small incident.

“My remarks on incidents large and small were misrepresented. I was actually referring to a sequence of incidents that happened after Hathras’ gang rape. In the Hathras incident, the government of Uttar Pradesh failed to provide appropriate treatment to the victim. done to cover up the evidence in Hathras and the way the victim was cremated at night is inhuman and barbaric. Contrary to this, the police in Balrampur (Chhattisgarh) immediately arrested the accused and the state government acted quickly, ”he said.

“(Incidents of) rape and atrocities, wherever they take place, are inhumane and cannot be tolerated. I never qualified the incidents of rape as small incidents, ”he said in a video released on Saturday night.

The BJP opposition criticized the minister, saying his comments showed the “distorted state of mind” of the state congress.

“See @INCChhattisgarh’s ‘vikrit mansikta’ (distorted state of mind)! They think the horror incidents with the Chhattisgarh girls are small incidents. @RahulGandhi ji should say if the rape incidents in Chhattisgarh are minor for you (Gandhi) also? you kidnap a minister who thinks so badly? When will justice prevail? “BJP national vice president Raman Singh tweeted in Hindi.

The BJP also asked the minister for an apology for his comments.

Previously, Raman Singh accused the Congressional government of trying to crack down on the alleged rape of a young girl in Balrampur.

On September 27, a young girl was reportedly sexually assaulted and beaten by a 22-year-old man in the Wadrafnagar neighborhood of Balrampur. Two people were arrested in this case.
