Patna:
Bihar’s deputy chief minister, Sushil Kumar Modi, said on Wednesday that the state government had paid 1 crore rupees for arranging 17 trains for the return of state-bound students who were stranded in Kota.
He said the government of Rajasthan should have borne the expenses.
“The government of Rajasthan had said that the expenses of students going from Kota to Bihar will be borne by Bihar. The government of Bihar deposited 1 crore Rs for 17 trains and only then Kota students could come. The deposit of 1 Rs crore for students was not a large sum for Bihar or Rajasthan, “Sushil Modi told ANI news agency.
He also said that the students had not been brought on buses, which had started to run long before the trains, as the distance between Kota and Patna is more than 1,300 km.
“It is not possible to travel more than 1,300 km by bus for the students because due to the lockout, no food stalls have been opened on the highways,” he said.
Slamming the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Congress, the Deputy Chief Minister said: “The RJD and Congress were talking about 3000 buses and 300 trains, but where are they? I would ask them to drop 1 crore Rs in the CM Relief Fund so that it can benefit poor states like Bihar. “
