New Delhi / Hathras:

Bhim’s army chief Chandrashekhar Azad is on his way to Hathras in Uttar Pradesh to meet with the family of the 20-year-old woman who died in a Delhi hospital on Tuesday after allegations of gang rape and torture the month latest.

Chandrashekhar Azad’s visit comes a day after Congress leaders – Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra – met the family at their home.

Army chief Bhim joined a protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar on Friday where hundreds of people came with placards and shouted slogans against the incident, which sparked massive outrage.

“Our struggle will continue until the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh [Yogi Adityanath] does not resign and justice is not served. I urge the Supreme Court to take note of the incident, ”he told Jantar Mantar.

The Bhim Army also led a protest earlier this week outside Delhi’s Safdarjung Hospital where the young woman died of terrible injuries sustained in the assault.

“In the same Uttar Pradesh that elected her and sent her to parliament, there is brutality against a girl from Hathras. She was raped and murdered … her bones broken and her body cremated like garbage. there is a violation of human rights in Uttar Pradesh, does the prime minister not say a word? “Chandrashekhar Azad earlier said in a moving message, attacking Prime Minister Narendra Modi – a UP MP in Varanasi.

Several opposition leaders were barred from visiting Hathras this week. On Thursday, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi were arrested when they first attempted to meet the victim’s family.

The next day, Derek O’Brien of the Trinamool Congress and several other TMC leaders said they were manhandled “just 1.5 km from the victim’s home.”
