Shilpa Shetty is a fitness enthusiast and frequently downloads healthy eating articles interrupted by photos and videos of her cooking and baking sessions with her son Viaan Raj Kundra on social media.

We are currently living in extreme situations. For one thing, there are so many things to do around the house while many also work from home; on the other hand, excess free time keeps us seated for long hours with very little movement – a state of enormous confusion for the body. All of this, however, can lead to stiff, sore backs and muscles. It is important to continue to stretch and strengthen the back to avoid severe long-term pain. So I practice this routine regularly and it works wonders for me. It strengthens the muscles of the back and abdomen, improves the flexibility of the spine and improves the posture of the body. It also relieves back pain and relaxes the back muscles, while opening the lungs. Give your body a little activity so that it doesn’t go into shock during these test times. The best way to spend time with your children is to understand what they enjoy doing the most. So go ahead and do it with them … build pillow cases, draw, paint, sing or dance! As for me, the only thing Viaan likes to do the most is baking, so let’s go … presenting the “peanut butter oatmeal cookies”! It has no refined sugar, can be dairy free if you skip the butter for the oil, is gluten free and loaded with good healthy. It is very nutritious, is absolutely filling and can be drenched at tea time by us too (I devoured this if you want to make it at home, here is all the information you will need: INGREDIENTS: 1/2 natural cup (unsweetened) peanut butter * 1/2 cup real maple syrup OR HONEY 4 tablespoons coconut oil (OR 4 tablespoons melted butter) * 1 teaspoon baking powder dough * 1/2 teaspoon fine-grain sea salt * 1 1/2 cups old-fashioned rolled oats, ground for 30 seconds in a food processor or blender * 5 tablespoons chocolate chips semi-sweet * 1 tablespoon vanilla extract * 2 tablespoons coconut sugar * 4 tablespoons roasted (ground) almonds * 1 egg (or 1 tablespoon soaked flaxseed powder in 3 tablespoons of water is the equivalent) [I added 2 tbsp of flaxseeds to make it more fibrous] * 2 tablespoons of almond milk (to smooth the texture) INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Preheat the oven to 160 degrees Celsius with two racks in the middle. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper (if you don’t have parchment paper, lightly grease the baking sheets). 2. Measure peanut butter and maple syrup. 3. Pour the peanut butter, coconut oil and maple syrup mixture into a mixing bowl. Add the melted butter and whisk until the mixture is smooth. Use your whisk to beat the egg, scraping the side of the bowl once it is incorporated, then whisk in the vanilla and salt. Stir in large spoon and stir in ground oats, add baking powder, flaxseed powder, coconut sugar and chocolate chips until evenly combined. Place the dough by the tablespoon or ice cream scoop (grease your fingers with coconut oil so that it does not stick when you flatten them) on your prepared baking sheets. 4. Bake cookies for a total of 12-15 minutes. Change sides after 7 minutes. Remove from the oven to cool. #TastyThursday #SwasthRahoMastRaho

I take a few minutes off to sit here and meditate so that I can connect with nature and enjoy the beauty of our Mother Earth. It costs nothing, but the price we pay when we abuse it is far too high. The ability to breathe fresh air, to eat clean or to have potable water is often taken for granted. It is no wonder that while we are all inside, the earth heals. So the 50th Earth Day today; Commit to conserving our resources, plant more trees, educate ourselves and those around us, choose a sustainable lifestyle and adopt the mantra of “ reduce-reuse-recycle ” as best we can . It is high time that we do our part too! . . . . . #SwasthRahoMastRaho # EarthDay2020 #EarthDay #MotherNature #stayhomestaysafe
