New Delhi:
Union Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said on Saturday that he has never been so “hopeful and confident” about Air India’s divestment or divestiture as it does now.
Speaking at a press conference, Mr. Puri said: “I have never been so optimistic and confident about divesting or divesting Air India, whatever you choose, as I am now. “I’ve always said that Air India is a first class asset. Engineers, excellent pilots, covering various destinations, whether it is the evacuation of Wuhan, Air India was at its heart.”
“And I think we have to make decisions on nationalization. We may have lost two or three months because of the pandemic, but we have gained a lot of experience in terms of value and how to move this file forward”, he added. .
Commenting on the resumption of international flights, Mr. Puri said: “The notion that international traffic has opened and that we are the only ones not to open requires a reality check. The exact time at which international flights will be resumed depending on which countries are open to receiving flights. “
“In the absence of a decision on the resumption of international civil aviation which will depend on the opening of other countries, we have no choice but to pursue what I call evacuation flights and repatriation under managed and controlled conditions, “he added.
