Assam to restrict inter-district movement, Guwahati “Unlock1” from Monday

Guwahati:

Assam has prohibited the inter-district movement of individuals from July 22 until further notice to prevent the community spread of COVID-19 in the state. The state government, however, decided not to extend the foreclosure for three weeks in Guwahati.

The flow of goods and essentials, however, will continue uninterrupted, said Secretary General Kumar Sanjay Krishna. For the interstate medical emergency and last rite movement, written authorization from the deputy commissioner of the district of origin will be required, said Mr. Krishna.

Announcing the directives on “Unlock One” for the Kamrup metropolitan district, which has been locked since June 28, Krishna said that the night curfew and full weekend lockout will continue in the district. The city of Guwahati is located in the metropolitan district of Kamrup.

The gradual unlocking of Guwahati comes after 21 days of locking, which was announced amid the increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in the city.

Here are the 10 things you should know about Guwahati progressive unlocking:

  1. On alternate days from Monday to Friday, stores and commercial establishments will be allowed to operate on the specified side from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  2. Following the standard on the one hand, entire sellers of essential items are allowed to operate from Monday to Friday. The same applies to whole sellers of non-essential items.
  3. While whole sellers of vegetables, fish and meat are allowed to operate Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., milk, dairy products and baby food can be sold daily.
  4. Construction activities, including the transportation of materials, will be permitted provided that the owner / builder is responsible for COVID testing and maintenance of all COVID-19 protocols.
  5. Restaurants and other hospitality services will be allowed to provide takeout from Monday to Friday. The pharmacies will, however, operate daily.
  6. With the exception of electric rickshaws, cabin aggregators, automatic rickshaws and manual rickshaws are allowed with two passengers. The operator must carry a negative test report for COVID-19.
  7. All central and state government offices, including banks, insurance companies, NBFCs, GTAC and private offices, will operate with 30% of the workforce.
  8. Private vehicles will be strictly prohibited on the streets, except in the event of a medical emergency.
  9. Merchants who comply with all COVID-19 protocols will be authorized to work with 50% of employees.
  10. Between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m., the movement of people is strictly prohibited while on Saturdays and Sundays, no movement of people is authorized at any time.
