  • “Our joint effort to travel first to our own country,” said the minister.
  • “Nothing is as beautiful as India,” he added.
  • Currently shooting on ASI sites is allowed, officials said.

New Delhi:

As part of Aatmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyaan, the Minister of Culture and Tourism, Prahlad Patel, asked the film industry to shoot on sites protected by the ASI on Thursday and assured them that it would obtain the authorization to do so within 15 to 20 days of filing their application online, reported PTI news agency. “It would be difficult for the film industry to go abroad at the moment, so we suggested it could travel to the Northeast States,” Prahlad Patel said at an FICCI event in Delhi.

“It would also respond to the PM’s call for people to visit various parts of the country. I told them we would be giving permission in 15 to 20 days. They just need to apply online. J ‘ve appealed that it would be great if other than the high traffic sites, they could also shoot less popular monuments suggested by us to give them a boost as well, “he said.

The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has more than 3,000 monuments and sites that were reopened on July 6 after remaining closed during the coronavirus shutdown.

Currently filming on ASI sites is allowed, but it involves a lot of paperwork and takes a long time, officials said.

“Since the film industry can no longer travel abroad, the ministry will help facilitate state authorizations. If necessary, we will also coordinate with the Ministry of Information and Technology,” said the minister.

“It should be our joint effort to travel first to our own country. Nothing is as beautiful as India. I want people to know our ancient culture. We have to promote our country and its sites”, a- he added.

Currently, the request for filming / video shooting with the filming team must be submitted by the applicant at least 15 days before the proposed shooting date.
