What could be a better way to honor artists than to recognize their work? One day after The death of Saroj Khan, Amul paid homage to the late choreographer in his post par excellence, very gently. On Saturday, a post was shared on the brand’s official Instagram handle, highlighting some of Saroj Khan’s most beautiful works. The post featured a caricature of the late choreographer, dressed in a salwar-kurta. “From A, B, C to Ek, Do, Teenagers of dance, “read the slogan on the post, referring to the iconic song Ek do teen from the 1988 film Tezaab, in which Saroj Khan choreographed Madhuri Dixit.

The caption for the message said: “Amul Topical: Tribute to the mother of dance / choreography in India”. Take a look at Amul’s tribute here:

Saroj Khan, who was admitted to a Mumbai hospital last month for breathing problems, died on Friday after heart failure. She was 71 years old. Saroj Khan’s funeral took place on Friday morning. Saroj Khan’s last choreographed song remains Tabah Ho Gaye of Kalank, which presents Madhuri Dixit.

Saroj Khan, winner of three national awards, has choreographed some of Bollywood’s most iconic dance hits. Ms. Khan choreographed evergreen pieces such as Hawa Hawai, Ek Do Teen, Tamma Tamma Loge, Dhak Dhak Karne Laga, among many others. She has received national awards for Yeh Ishq Haayeof Jab We Met, Dola Re Dola of Devdas and all the songs from the Tamil film Sringaram.
