Actor Amitabh Bachchan replanted a Gulmohar tree in the garden of his Prateeksha bungalow after the tree was uprooted due to relentless heavy rains in Mumbai. The 77-year-old actor shared photos on Instagram and revealed in the post that he first planted the Gulmohar tree in 1976 when he got the bungalow and replanted it at the occasion of the birthday of his mother Teji Bachchan in his memory. Mr. Bachchan, who recently recovered from COVID-19, replanted the tree in the presence of three people, ensuring social distance and other safety instructions.

Amitabh Bachchan captioned the post: “This large ‘Gulmohar’ tree was planted by me as a sapling when we had our first Prateeksha house in 1976 … the recent storm brought it down but yesterday on the day of on my mother’s birthday (Aug 12), I replanted a fresh new Gulmohar tree in her name in the same location. ”Big B also shared a verse from a poem composed by her father Harivansh Rai Bachchan.

Amitabh Bachchan tested positive for coronavirus in July and returned home after fully recovering on August 3. The son of actor Abhishek, hospitalized the same day, also returned home on August 10. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and her daughter have also tested positive for the coronavirus and have recovered.

Amitabh Bachchan was last seen in Amazon Prime movie Gulabo Sitabo, with Ayushmann Khurrana. Mr. Bachchan’s current work project is the next season of quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati.
