Tuesday’s episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 12 was as moving as it was fun. Amitabh Bachchan started the episode with Arpana Vyas, a takeover candidate, a teaching assistant from Madhya Pradesh, who returned home with a cash prize of Rs 12.5 lakh. Mr. Bachchan had an emotional encounter with Arpana, who said he made fun of his speech difficulty. However, the next contender – Rekha Rani, a 27-year-old contender for Delhi civil service – turned out to be the most talkative of all the contestants this season. “My nature is like Jhansi Ki Rani,” she told Mr Bachchan, who, on a lighter note, said he was already afraid of her.
Addressing the candidate’s father in the audience, Bachchan said Rekha Rani had indeed left her “speechless”. When a question about Shah Rukh Khan was raised, Rekha Rani said that she was a huge fan of the actor and as a child she really didn’t like Big B for being rude to Shah Rukh in some of the their films. Rekha Rani said she was angry with Big B for scolding Shah Rukh in Mohabbatein and for asking him to leave the house Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.
Mr. Bachchan, in his characteristic sense of humor, tried to reason with her by saying that he was only playing on-screen characters in the movies. He then hilariously said “I apologize” in a fake anger and added that he would also apologize to Shah Rukh.
