At the meeting, Congress demanded that the COVID-19 test be provided to everyone and that 10,000 rupees be paid to each family in which a member is infected or to a containment area. The party also demanded that fourth-year medical students be used as non-permanent resident physicians.
Shah briefed the leaders of four major Delhi political parties on the measures taken to control the coronavirus pandemic and asked for their opinion on the matter, said an Interior Ministry official, the news agency reported. PTI.
Neighboring Uttar Pradesh sealed the border with Delhi, saying that the movement of people to and from the national capital was spreading the infection in the states.
Today’s meeting follows restrictions imposed by the Supreme Court on Maharashtra, Delhi and Tamil Nadu – states with the highest incidence of coronavirus.
Uttar Pradesh told the Supreme Court on Friday that it would maintain travel restrictions because there are 40 times more cases of COVID-19 in the national capital compared to Noida and Ghaziabad. Haryana has said that she will allow everyone to travel to and from Delhi without restrictions.
Amit Shah met with Mr. Kejriwal on Sunday and announced a series of measures for Delhi. Key decisions include tripling the number of tests in the next six days and the center providing Delhi with 500 coaches to increase the number of beds for coronavirus patients. A committee will be submitting its report today on reducing the cost of treatment and the costs of COVID-19. Mr. Shah also announced that COVID-19 tests would be launched at each polling station in the containment areas in Delhi and that a comprehensive home-to-home health survey would be conducted in hot spots for contact tracing.
