West Bengal governor Jagdeep Dhankhar said Monday he would meet with interior minister Amit Shah to brief him on the current situation in the state.
The meeting, which was scheduled for 12 noon, comes amid growing animosity between the Raj Bhawan and the office of the chief minister on a multitude of governance and policy issues, the latest being the education system of the ‘State.
In a series of tweets, the governor said he would inform the Minister of the Interior about the state and how the administration was run by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
He said the discussions will be held in accordance with article 159 of the Constitution which provides for the oath or affirmation of a governor.
Mr. Dhankhar further stated that the well-being of the people of the state was his priority.
