Union Minister Piyush Goyal on Wednesday described agricultural reforms as a landmark move for farmers and said the move would increase their productivity and income.
Addressing the Telangana Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry program on “New World Order – Aatmanirbhar Bharat“, he said this would change the course of Indian agricultural history.
“This will increase the productivity and incomes of our farmers. By freeing up the agricultural sector, opening it up to greater private sector participation and new avenues, farmers will have the power. The Parliament recently passed the Agricultural Trade and Trade (Promotion and Facilitation) Bill 2020, and the Farmers’ Agricultural Services and Price Guarantee Agreement (Empowerment and Protection) Bill. , 2020, and the Essential Products (Amendment) Bill, 2020. All of these bills also received Presidential assent.

The minister said the government is working in partnership with state governments and local agencies to identify and expand India’s capabilities.

Praising the Indian Railways, he said 15 percent more freight was carried in the 29 days of September compared to the corresponding period last year.
“Yesterday, we carried 33% more freight than we carried on September 29, 2019. Freight trains run at twice the speed. Freight and passenger train operations are being reoriented and we are now rewriting our entire schedule. the family has decided to surpass last year’s performance, ”he added.
