New Delhi:

A few days before Rohit Khilnani’s exclusive interview with K-pop sensation BTS airing on GalacticGaming, we’ve put together a roster of another aspect (besides the music) of the seven-member group that fans love – their clothing choices. BTS, which counts RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook among its members, was formed in 2013. BTS has offered major fashion and inspiration icons in recent years – be it by adopting a fluid genre fashion or promoting local designers in their region, even breaking unspoken red carpet rules. Here is a list of the top fashion trends started by BTS.

Gender Fluid Fashion – Hell Yeah!

When mention is made of genre fluid fashion and the musicians embracing it, one is likely to imagine pop stars with kohl-rimmed eyes and maybe septum piercings. However, BTS is a group that has redefined fluid genre fashion all together. Whether removing roses with the utmost ease or wearing necklaces, they’ve done it all at one point. They managed to make their clothing choices synonymous with androgynous fashion, with ruffled collars, high-heeled boots (often sported by Jin). Our favorite has to be this pearl earring that V wears with all her pride.

We bow to their formal style

BTS’s staple may be street fashion, but they clean up well. The K-pop group surely knows how to get in shape if the occasion calls for it. The biggest example is the Grammy Awards. For the 2019 ceremony, the stars were men in black with matching suits and tuxedos, designed by South Korean designers Kim Seo Ryong and JayBaek Couture. For the 2020 Grammys, BTS surprised in an overcoat, with a color palette in shades of brown, camel, beige, and black.

A mix of high-end and local products

These K-pop stars can do it all. They can regularly wear Dior, Givenchy, Berluti, Saint Laurent, Gucci, Bottega Veneta but they never forget their roots. For the 2019 Grammys, they wore outfits designed by Kim Seo Ryong and JayBaek Couture – two Korean brands.

Roses, Pastels and Prints – Yes, please

This seven-member boy band can swap prints, pinks and pastels in the blink of an eye. In 2018 Billboard Music Awards, BTS made a groundbreaking appearance in seven distinct Gucci outfits. It was raining prints and colors on the red carpet. They ditched red carpet staples for graphic tees, Hawaiian shirts, moccasins, bold colors, and stripes. Their dynamic fashion choices in their music videos clearly don’t need to be showcased.

Do you have “hair” about all the shades of BTS?

The band, which was formed in 2013, has undergone many changes and their collective hair evolution is a completely different story. From RM’s mowhawk to Jungkook’s cherry red to Suga’s mint braids, BTS has had some iconic hairstyles over the years. How can we forget J-Hope’s red bangs and Jimin’s pink-purple hair? That’s not it, there were also undertones of orange, blonde, golden honey, teal, platinum blonde, two-tone and others.

Accessorize all the way

There is no stopping for BTS members when it comes to accessories. They adore caps, beanies and are often seen wearing them on tour. Earrings, lockets, studs and necklaces are also some of the pieces that they add to their outfits so fabulous. Glasses and (now) masks are also important aspects of their outfits.

Bonus: airport air worthy of flying

This K-pop group swears by denims, especially when it comes to airport looks. When clicked at the airport, they are often spotted wearing neutral toned bags. They generally keep their airport relaxed and comfortable. Some of their airport staples include printed t-shirts, jeans (of course), trenches, glasses, and oversized shirts.
