91-year-old Australian survived paragliding accident
Sydney, Australia:
A 91-year-old Australian survived a paragliding accident, drifting away with only minor injuries after diving into the ocean near Sydney’s northern beaches.
The elderly paraglider was helped out of the water by locals after it descended near Warriewood around 6 p.m. Sunday, police said.
Emergency services were called to a cliff near the site, where paramedics estimated the man had escaped with just cuts and bruises.
Images from local media showed the daredevil, who was not named, walking over rocks with his left leg bandaged, with the help of rescuers.
Police said the glider chute had been recovered from the water.
The man was taken to the Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney for treatment.
