Forty-three people lost their lives in various rain and thunderstorm incidents in Uttar Pradesh on May 30, the state government announced on Sunday.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed his sorrow over the loss of human life and ordered officials that Rs 4 lakh be immediately provided to each of the families of the dead.

He also ordered that rescue operations be started immediately and also said that adequate treatment should be given to the injured.

“The office of the relief commissioner reported that 43 people lost their lives in various incidents of rain in the state, which took place on May 30,” said a statement.

Eight deaths were reported in Unnao and five in Kannauj.

Officials said two people were killed, while six others were injured in separate incidents of house collapse due to a dust storm in Lucknow on Saturday.

SHO of Lalauli Police Station Pradeep Kumar Yadav said: “On Saturday evening, a dust storm hit the Bahua region, in which a kutcha house collapsed on a 55-year-old man, causing resulted in his death. “

Another house collapse incident occurred in the village of Kusumbhi, resulting in the death of a 60-year-old man.

Meanwhile, the meteorological service warned Sunday that thunderstorms and lightning accompanied by gusts of up to 50 to 60 km / h were most likely in isolated locations over the state in the next 24 hours.
