Amid outrage in the country over the brutalization and gangrap of a young woman in the Hathras of Uttar Pradesh, another similar case has been reported by the state. The young woman from Balrampur had died while being transported to Lucknow hospital. A post-mortem report confirmed the gang rape, sources said, adding that she died of multiple injuries she sustained. There are no details yet on the nature of the injuries.

Two people were arrested in the case, one of whom is a minor, the woman’s brother said.

The woman’s mother said she was abducted on her way to work in the morning. When she did not return in time, the family approached the police.

She returned around 7 p.m., the attackers put her on an electric rickshaw and sent her home, sources said.

“The men injected her with a substance that made her unconscious. Then they raped her … They broke her back, they broke her limbs. When my child came back, she could hardly stand or talk, ”the woman’s mother said. , crying.

“Somehow, crying, my daughter said, ‘Save me, I don’t want to die’,” the mother said.

She added that shortly after returning home, her daughter complained of a burning pain in her stomach.

“The doctor at the local hospital said her condition was serious and advised to take her to Lucknow. But she died while we were near the town of Balrampur,” she added.

Former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav advised Yogi Adityanath’s government not to attempt a “cover-up” as in the Hathras affair.

“After Hathras, another gang rape incident surfaced in Balrampur in which the woman died after torture. The BJP government should not attempt to cover up here like Hathras and should take action quickly against the accused,” reads -on in his tweet in Hindi.

The Hathras woman, who was also a member of the listed castes, was attacked on September 19 when she went to cut grass for fodder. Her assailants had left her in the fields half-strangled, with multiple fractures, her tongue gashed, bare, bleeding and paralyzed.

His body was cremated by Uttar Pradesh police in the middle of the night. Her family was locked up and did not have the opportunity to take her home for the last time and received a proper funeral.
The state has come under huge criticism and public anger has escalated over the issue.

Congresswoman Sonia Gandhi launched a scathing attack on Yogi Adityanath’s government, claiming that she had been “killed by a ruthless government” which tried to “silence the matter”.

Strong comments also came from Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Mayawati of the Bahujan Samaj party and Sanjay Raut of Shiv Sena.

The National Women’s Commission demanded a report from the state government and a plea was filed with the Supreme Court, requesting an investigation from the Central Bureau of Investigation or a special investigation team.
