Mumbai:
Two police officers died and a further 131 cases of COVID-19 were reported among Maharashtra police personnel, bringing the total number of coronavirus cases in the force to 2,095.
“In the past 24 hours, 131 police officers have tested positive for COVID-19. The total number of coronavirus cases in the Maharashtra police has increased to 2,095 and the number of deaths has been 22,” police said. Maharashtra in a press release.
Of the total cases, 897 police officers recovered from the infection.
Maharashtra continues to be the most affected state in the country with 56,948 reported cases and 1,897 deaths, according to the Union’s Ministry of Health and Welfare.
