Arjun Mathur was nominated for the category of best actor at this year International Emmys, for his performance in the web-series Made in paradise. The actor was congratulated by Zoya Akhtar, who happens to be one of the directors of the series. Zoya posted a photo with Arjun on her Instagram Story and wrote, “Nominated for International Emmys. Best Actor. Made in paradise. She added a heart-shaped emoji with the photo. Meanwhile, Farhan Akhtar, who produced the show with Ritesh Sidhwani, praised Arjun Mathur and the other nominees, among whom Four more shots please (nominated for best comedy series) and Delhi Crime (nominated for best drama series). “Congratulations Arjun Mathur, on his appointment as an actor in Made in paradise and the teams of Delhi Crime and Four more shots please on their name nods… Go India, ”he tweeted.

Amazon Prime Video, the platform on which Made in paradise streams, also congratulated Arjun Mathur. “Congratulations to our Emmy nominee Karan Mehra aka Arjun Mathur,” their tweet read.

Made in paradise is a collaborative creation by Zoya Akhtar, Nitya Mehra, Alankrita Shrivastava and Prashant Nair. The show was released on Amazon Prime India last year. Besides Arjun Mathur, it also stars Sobhita Dhulipala, Jim Sarbh, Kalki Koechlin, Shashank Arora and Shivani Raghuvanshi. The show focuses on lesser-known facets of the wedding industry, through the eyes of two wedding planners.
Last year, Zoya Akhtar’s anthology film Stories of lust, also directed by Karan Johar, Anurag Kashyap and Dibakar Banerjee, was nominated for Best TV Movie / Miniseries at the International Emmys.
