At least one passenger survived the crash of a Pakistani airliner that fell in a residential area of Karachi on Friday, said a government official.
Sindh chief minister Murad Ali Shah asked about the health of banker Zafar Mahmood, who miraculously survived, provincial government spokesman Abdur Rashid Channa said in a statement.
When the chief minister said “Murad is there,” the survivor replied, “Thank you very much. God has been merciful,” the statement said.
The Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority said there had been 91 passengers and eight crew members on board the Airbus A320.
