Yash Raj Films (YRF) handed over to Mumbai police on Saturday copies of the contract signed by the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput for their upcoming projects.
Rajput, 34, known for movies like “Kai Po Che!”, “MS Dhoni: The Untold Story”, “Chhichhore”, was found dead on Sunday in his apartment in Bandra. No suicide was found on the spot, said police.
Bandra police sent a letter to Yash Raj Films for details of the contract on June 18, said a police official.
“As a result, the investigating officer (IO) received a copy of the YRF contract which was signed by Sushant Singh Rajput,” said Abhishek Trimukhe, deputy police commissioner for Zone IX.
Police have so far recorded statements from 15 people, including the family of the actor, his staff, his close friend actor Rhea Chakraborty and casting director Mukesh Chhabra, he said. he declares.
“Based on the information provided by them, the police verify the facts,” said the DCP.
Ms. Chakraborty told investigators that the actor ended his contract with Yash Raj Films and also asked him to stop working with the banner, police said.
Sushant Singh Rajput had worked in two films from Yash Raj Films – “Shuddh Desi Romance” (2013) directed by Maneesh Sharma and in the director Dibakar Banerjee directed “Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!” (2015).
His third film with the banner was supposed to be “Paani”, directed by Shekhar Kapur. However, YRF is said to have abandoned the project.
