The purchase of the “PR-126” rice variety will begin from September 27 in Haryana, a senior official here said on Saturday.
Food, Civilian Supply and Consumer Affairs Department’s Additional Chief Secretary PK Das said the rice variety ‘PR-126’ was harvested by farmers in four districts of Kurukshetra, Karnal , Ambala and Kaithal. Farmers in these districts brought their crops to the mandis.
He said that about 4 lakh quintals of paddy have arrived in the mandis of these four districts and while considering the inconvenience faced by the farmers, the state government has prepared a program to start purchasing from Sunday. even.
He said adequate arrangements had been made by purchasing agencies, including Hafed, the Haryana State Storage Company and the Department of Food, Civilian Supplies and Consumer Affairs to guarantee a hassle-free supply.
Mr. Das said that the pass issued by the Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board to farmers to go to the mandis is being verified by the staff of the market committee.
He said that now it will be checked whether the farmers who bring their crops to the mandi, have registered on Meri Fasal-Mera Byora portal or not.
The additional chief secretary informed that the e-Kharid portal will also start from September 29, 2020 and the planning of the same will also be carried out.
Meanwhile, the central government approved the implementation of the Price Support Program (PSS) for the purchase of up to 5,825 metric tons of Moong in Haryana for the Kharif season 2020-21, one official said.
As per the approval, the approved supply period will be 90 days and will begin as of October 1, 2020.
