New Delhi:
Tejshwi Yadav of Rashtriya Janata Dal attacked the outgoing chief minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar, over alleged clashes between the police and some “anti-social” elements in Munger of Bihar.
An 18-year-old man was shot dead and some people were shot and wounded after clashes during the submersion of Goddess Durga on Monday.
“What was the Chief Minister of Bihar doing? What was Chief Deputy Minister Sushil Modi doing, who is a leader of the BJP? They have a two-engine government. Haven’t they had information? This (inaction ) shows the role they played in the incident, ”said Mr. Yadav, senior ministerial official of the Grand Alliance, as voting began with 71 seats in Bihar.
Seeking strict action against the accused, he demanded an investigation overseen by a High Court committee, headed by a retired judge, the “immediate transfer” of the district magistrate and police commissioner Lipi Singh, which he compared General Dyer to the Jallianwala Bagh massacre.
“Who gave the order to become General Dyer,” Yadav asked.
