Washington:
US President Donald Trump said on Friday morning that he and First Lady Melania had tested positive for the coronavirus. “Tonight @FLOTUS and I have tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will go through it together!” Trump tweeted.
President Trump is “fine” and will continue to perform his duties “without interruption” while quarantining himself with the first lady, after both test positive for coronavirus, the president’s doctor said.
They “are both doing well right now and they plan to stay at home in the White House while they recover,” Dr. Sean Conley said in a statement.
Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will immediately begin our quarantine and recovery process. We will go through this TOGETHER!

“I expect the President to continue in office without interruption while recovering.”
As too many Americans have done this year, @potus & I quarantine at home after testing positive for COVID-19. We feel good and I have postponed all future commitments. Make sure you stay safe and we’ll all be okay with it.

Trump said Thursday evening he would go into quarantine after a senior official tested positive for coronavirus. The White House has removed a campaign trip to Florida from Trump’s schedule after testing positive for COVID-19. He was scheduled to host a campaign event at Sanford Airport in Florida on Friday night, but his new schedule only indicates a noon phone call on “supporting Covid-19 for vulnerable seniors.”

He confirmed in an interview with Fox News that Hope Hicks, one of his closest confidants, had tested positive.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that people stay home and self-isolate for up to 14 days if they may have been exposed to the virus.
Hicks was traveling with Trump on Air Force One on Tuesday to travel to Cleveland for the first presidential debate with Democrat Joe Biden.
She was also with him on the Marine One helicopter on Wednesday when he returned to the White House after a rally in Minnesota.
