Surah:
Garba the dance is famous in India, especially in Gujarat during Navratri. The nine day Navratri festivities begin tomorrow and the celebration without Garba is unimaginable. In a unique attempt to take advantage of Garba amid the raging Covid pandemic, a group of fashion design students in Surat performed Garba wearing hand-painted PPE suits. Personal protective equipment or PPE suits are essential for doctors and other healthcare workers caring for Covid patients. Garba suits in white are covered from head to toe like the ones doctors wear in hospitals. The novelty of the PPE Garba dress is the multicolored dupatta.

Garba events and gatherings were not authorized this year by the government of Gujarat during Navratri. The pomp and grandeur associated with Navratri in the state will be largely absent, but people are really creative to be able to enjoy it safely.
The state government has issued a set of Covid-related guidelines for the Navratri season. Navratri in Gujarat typically sees large gatherings, which can lead to an increase in COVID-19 infections in the state, authorities said.
